Hairstyling tools at Akwaba Hair Braiding

Privacy Policy

Effective June 19, 2026

Akwaba Hair Braiding (“Akwaba,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through akwababraiding.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information — ever.

Information We Collect

We only collect information you choose to give us:

  • Booking an appointment: your name, email, phone number, the service you want, your preferred date, and any message you add.
  • Contacting us: your name, email, and message.
  • Newsletter sign-up: your email address.

To recognize returning clients for our loyalty rewards, we keep a simple customer record (your name, email, and phone) linked to your past bookings.

Cookies and tracking: our public website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party trackers. The only cookie we set is a secure session cookie used by salon staff to sign in to the private admin area — it is never used to track visitors.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide only to:

  • respond to your messages and questions;
  • schedule, confirm, and follow up on your braiding appointments;
  • recognize returning clients and apply loyalty rewards;
  • send our newsletter, if you asked to receive it (you can opt out anytime).

How We Share Your Information

We never sell or rent your information. We share it only with the trusted service providers that help us run the salon, and only as needed:

  • Email delivery (Resend): to send booking confirmations and notifications.
  • Google Search Console: to verify and maintain our site listing (no visitor tracking).

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our clients, staff, or business.

Data Retention

We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above — for example, to maintain your booking history and loyalty status — or as required by law. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see Your Rights below).

How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable measures to keep your data safe: all form input is validated, our database uses parameterized queries, staff passwords are stored only as secure hashes, the admin area is protected by encrypted sessions, and access is limited to authorized salon staff. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

Children's Privacy

Our website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from children. When you book braiding services for a minor, any details you share about them are provided by you, the parent or guardian, and are used only to provide that appointment. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Your Rights

You may, at any time, ask us to:

  • see what personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is inaccurate;
  • delete your information;
  • unsubscribe from our newsletter;
  • opt out of any sale of your data — which is automatic, because we never sell it.

To exercise any of these rights, just contact us using the details below and we’ll take care of it.

Marketing Emails

If you join our newsletter, every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be removed. We will stop sending marketing emails promptly once you opt out.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Effective” date at the top of this page. Please check back occasionally for the latest version.
